Primary Duties 1. Leads by example to promote excellence in resident care. Models professional demeanor and acts as a mentor. 2. Demonstrates ability to delegate and achieve results through others. 3. Demonstrates understanding of and ensures compliance with all State and Federal requirements. 4. Assumes leadership role for daily operations and takes appropriate action. 5. Rounds on residents, nursing staff, and families daily to ensure good outcomes. Supervises nursing staff, assists with hiring, education and disciplinary action of nursing staff. Completes performance evaluations, and supervises scheduling. 6. Assists with writing and revising, and ensures staff understanding and compliance with policies, procedures and standards. 7. Demonstrates the ability to coordinate response to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner. 8. Understands and demonstrates ability to work within the departmental budget. Assists Administrator to prepare operational and capital budget annually. 9. Attends care conferences to ensure coordination of resident needs. 10. Participates in facility monthly CQI and Quarterly CCC meetings with appropriate P.I. goals. 11. Ensures staff schedule is accurate and timely, and checks staffing needs daily to provide that minimum ppd hours are met. 12. Meets regularly with the medical director and other staff physicians to ensure proper communication is maintained. 13. Ensures that communication with the Acute Hospital is accurate and cooperative. 14. Accepts call rotation after hours and on weekends with the Director of Nursing and other managers. Varies hours worked to accommodate unit needs. 15. Markets the unit by phone, visits, and distribution of brochures at least monthly. 16. Attends Stand-Up, U.R. Directors and Weight and Wound meetings. 17. Meets at least weekly with the DON.

Minimum Education/Certification ? Associate Degree ? Current California Registered Nurse License (RN) ? BLS Certification
Minimum Experience ? 2 years experience as an RN ? Previous Subacute/ventilator experience preferred
