Roles & Responsibilities:
The Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP) at Mount Sinai Beth Israel is in need of a Nurse Manager. Our program focuses on the rapid evaluation, stabilization and treatment of psychiatric disturbances, as well as planning for comprehensive follow-up. Our program includes a dedicated comprehensive psych emergency department with extended observation beds, mobile crisis outreach, and our crisis residence program.
The unit has 30 employees split up between the Extended Observation and CPEP areas. There are 6 beds, but the unit can hold up to 10, if needed. The average length of stay is 3 days with 10 hours for treat and release cases. The patient population is very mixed and could be coming from the emergency department, walk-ins, or escorted by law enforcement.
MSN, required (enrolled or earned is acceptable)
5-7 years, plus experience in CPEP or Psychiatric unit
Crisis Management experience, strongly preferred
2-5 years experience as a Supervisor, Assistant Nurse Manager, or Nurse Manager and department/team lead experience a plus
