Receives and prioritizes work orders, installs wiring by Massachusetts State Electric Code, sets schedules for work to be performed. Identifies and reports or corrects unusual conditions and deficiencies, maintains electrical, fire alarm, security alarm, nurse call, cctv, music system, intercom, and other related equipment. Compiles estimated costs and time required for proposals on special projects. Documents work order completion and results using written and computerized systems.
2. Plans, lays out, installs, troubleshoots, and maintains (480V, 208V, 110V, 24V, low voltage?etc.) electrical circuitry and equipment, including switchboards, transformers, circuit breakers, motors, lights, electric beds, etc., throughout Hospital buildings. Detects and reports unusual electrical conditions to supervisor.
3. Performs complete checkout of complex electrical systems; removes, installs, and aligns electric motors and related control equipment. Bands and installs conduits, pulls wire through conduit. Draws schematic and line diagrams, determines circuitry protection requirements, installs fuses and circuit breakers, etc. Troubleshoots and maintains Central Alarm Circuitry (, Keltron, Honeywell, Gamewell, SIMS System, etc.) and related equipment throughout the Hospital buildings. Monitors and tests the operation of safety devices on electrical, fire alarm, security alarm, intercoms, and other electrical systems.
1. High school or trade school graduate. Current valid Electrician License in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts mandatory. Working knowledge of intercom systems, music systems, nurse call systems, fire alarm, Emergency Power systems preferred. Ability to read, write, and understand English. Ability to differentiate colors and read electrical and related blueprints. Must have good communication skills.
2. Current valid driverï¿½s license for operating motor vehicles in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
