Kingwood Pines Hospital is a 116 bed facility located in the beautiful residential Kingwood community. We are located about 30 miles northeast of the Houston Medical Center. The hospital provides 24-hour emergency services. We serve children, adolescents, and adults for psychiatric and behavioral health. The hospital also has services in intensive outpatient and partial hospital program services.
Kingwood Pines Hospital is seeking a dynamic and talented Registered Nurse (Nights). The Registered Nurse will provide nursing care for psychiatric patients, including child, adolescent, geriatric and chemical dependency patients using the nursing process. To assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. To administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities Include:
To initiate and document any special treatment procedures clearly and concisely.
To recognize signs and symptoms of chemical dependency disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
To recognize signs and symptoms of mental health disorders and apply/utilize appropriate treatment interventions.
To assess, direct and intervene in crisis situations.
To provide leadership and direction to licensed vocational nurses, psychiatric technicians and counselors.
To provide assessment of patients' psychiatric and medical status.
To contribute to treatment plan as a member of interdisciplinary team.
To administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a Physician.
To provide and direct milieu management.
To document nursing care, treatment and patient's response to treatment.
To provide health education to patients and families.
