Hiring full-time supervising school health physicians
Are you a self-motivated board certified/board eligible pediatrician that is passionate about providing care to school aged children enrolled in public and non-public schools in NYC?
Supervising Physician Responsibilities:
Improve the health of school children through clinical and public health work
Support the development and implementation of medical initiatives that promote positive health behaviors and outcomes
Reduce high risk behaviors
Provide medical care and public health services to students through Office of School Health programs and initiatives
Supervise School Health Physicians
Serve as a consultant to the school nurse and school administrative staff regarding school-related health concerns
Support all medical initiatives put forth by the Office of School Health, e.g. Asthma, Reproductive Health, Obesity and Diabetes Initiatives
Provide clinical assistance in the event of an environmental or communicable disease occurrence
Keep abreast of health management policy statements and emerging research within the health community affecting school health
Physicians who have completed residency training in the following are also encouraged to apply: Preventive Medicine, Social Pediatrics, Adolescent Medicine, Community Medicine, Family Practice, or Med-Peds. Training in community health or public health a plus. 10- or 12-month assignments are available.
