Norton Community Hospital (NCH), a 129 bed hospital and member of Mountain States Health Alliance is seeking a qualified Urologist to serve its region. The catchment area includes a population of 75,000 – 100,000 patients located in southwestern Virginia and southeastern Kentucky. There is a local 10 physician primary care network to supply referrals. NCH recently completed a three year $45 million Master Facility Plan. This plan includes a $12 million Surgical Services Suite to include a spacious Urology suite with Uroview-OEC-2800 urology table. PACS capable with side by side monitors and track lighting with procedure light. In addition there are four 600 SF surgery suites, high definition booms, 55 inch wide screen TVs for teaching and viewing, and non-heat emitting LED lighting
The Facility is supported by a very experienced surgical team and anesthesia team. NCH sponsors an Internal Medicine Residency program consisting of 26 residents. The facility consistently achieves very high quality outcomes due to its unique structure as a rural based academic medical facility. The hospital also operates a critical access hospital in Clintwood, VA and various primary care clinics in the region, all of which will refer to the urology practice. Medical office space is located in a professional office building adjourning the hospital. The office is in very close proximity to the surgery suite and the Emergency Department.
The hospital has expressed a large amount of flexibility to fit the needs of the new physician. The candidate will be based in a hospital-employed position. The base compensation is at the MGMA median for two years transitioning into a large RVU-based production model in the second year. Sign-On Bonus – Negotiable, Relocation Allowance – Up to $10,000. Completion of a qualified urology residency program within the U.S. is required. For currently practicing urologists, board certification required. For new residents, board certification is expected within five years of completion of residency. Candidates should expect to successfully complete a thorough background check and professional questionnaire. Use of nicotine is prohibited at all Mountain States Health Alliance facilities.
