The Assistant Vice President Urgent Care is responsible for the clinical, strategic, administrative and fiscal operations for multiple-ambulatory care sites and/or multiple specialty sites. This includes but not limited to the coordination, development, financial management and strategic planning. The AVP ensures the efficient day to day operations and the delivery of cost-effective, quality patient care in support of business objectives and organizational strategic goals.
The AVP Urgent Care coordinates ambulatory patient care activities through collaboration with the onsite team members, hospital management (where applicable) and providers. Actively pursues growth opportunities through the development of new programs and services based on community needs and healthcare trends. Seeks out, builds and maintains working relationship with external health care organizations, affiliates and individuals to provide ready access to new revenue opportunities as they arise. This position coordinates service delivery by utilizing a collaborative, cost-effective approach to meet the demands of today’s healthcare market.
The AVP Urgent Care develops, implements, and administers operational systems that support the clinical practice, to include patient scheduling and registration, managed care, receivables management, budgetary planning, equipment and materials inventory, policy and procedure implementation and staffing issues. AVP is responsible for analyzing and preparing physician compensation models, analyzing and managing practice acquisitions and preparing and monitoring 5B scorecard metrics for service line. AVP acts as a liaison with ancillary services, third party payers, physicians, and management to resolve customer service, patient care and financial issues. The AVP may focus on a specific area of expertise within the administration of the ambulatory site, such as information system administration, reimbursement or financial/budgeting. The AVP coordinates monthly meetings, performs rounding on sites and attends service line meetings, when applicable.
The Assistant Vice President Urgent Care seeks opportunities to enhance and expand services, managed care contracting and builds strong physician/provider relationships. This position participates in short and long term planning for ambulatory services. The AVP supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.
EDUCATION: Master’s Degree in related field required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar healthcare related role with responsibilities in management and/or program development. Documented record of proven accomplishments within the areas of planning, fiscal management, and clinical practice management required. Demonstrates the ability to lead and manage as required by the position. Organizational vision and values, highly developed oral and written communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills required. Organizational, analytical and project management skills required. Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required for this position within 30-60 days from date of hire.
