Performs first trimester perinatal ultrasounds, vascular ultrasounds and general ultrasounds.
Demonstrates understanding of ultrasound and vascular principles and theory, anatomy and pathology processes utilizing the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal exams.
Provides interpretable data, relevant clinical history and technical interpretation results for all exams performed.
Completes temporary ultrasound reports in ultrasound record-keeping computer system and completes patient charting.
Collaborates with physicians (perinatologist, radiologist, referring physician and/or vascular surgeon) in reviewing ultrasounds.
Sends images to PACS.
Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies and exam rooms are readily available for procedures.
Troubleshoots equipment and reports equipment failures.
Graduation from an accredited school of ultrasonography to include education for general, perinatal and vascular procedures.
Recent hospital experience as a vascular and general sonographer or recent graduate of an accredited school.
Demonstrates familiarity with AIUM standard OB exam.
Must have and maintain the following registries: RVS or RVT, RDMS Ob/Gyn, RDMS Abdomen.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills and ability to use software to perform vascular testing.
